Unlicensed fertility Doctor arrested in 𝗢𝘆𝗼

The Oyo State Police Command has apprehended 45-year-old Adeniyi Benjamin, who allegedly operated an unlicensed medical facility in Ibadan, specializing in fertility treatments.

Benjamin was arrested on October 2 at Life Is Good Hospital, located in the Olodo area, following a tip-off regarding his unauthorized medical practices.

In a statement from the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, it was revealed that Benjamin was actively attending to patients despite lacking any medical qualifications or a license to practice.

Upon searching the facility, police recovered various medical items, including two weighing scales, four Quantum Magnetic Resonance Body Analysers, a stethoscope, a variety of medicines, and specimen bottles.

During initial questioning, Benjamin admitted to functioning as a quack practitioner for approximately seven years, claiming he had been treating patients for fertility issues without any formal training.

The police expressed concerns about the potential dangers posed to individuals seeking treatment from unqualified practitioners, particularly in sensitive areas like fertility care.

They urged the public to verify the credentials of anyone offering medical services before seeking treatment. Residents are also encouraged to report suspicious medical activities to the authorities.

Olayinka stated that the investigation is ongoing, aiming to uncover the full scope of Benjamin's operations and whether others were involved in running the facility.

The police emphasized the importance of public safety and the need for stringent regulation of medical practices to protect vulnerable individuals.

Benjamin's case highlights the critical need for increased awareness and vigilance regarding health services in the community.

As the investigation continues, the Oyo State Police Command is committed to taking appropriate legal actions against those engaged in unauthorized medical practices.
