Sunday Igboho Strengthens Iru Ekun's Ties with Security Agencies to Combat Insecurity

Yoruba Nation activist and founder of the Iru Ekun Security Network, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, and the Department of State Services (DSS) to address insecurity in the South-West.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Igboho announced plans for the establishment of an Iru Ekun office in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which he believes will bolster their operations and official engagements.

“We will continue to work alongside conventional security agencies to promote safety and peace across our communities,” he stated, emphasizing that collaboration is crucial in tackling issues like kidnapping and banditry.

Igboho also expressed gratitude for the support Iru Ekun has received from President Bola Tinubu's government and South-West governors in combating criminal activities in Yorubaland.

The announcement follows a generous donation from KSI Construction Company Limited, which has provided a plot of land valued at N50 million for the new FCT office. Igboho described this support as vital in enhancing community security initiatives.

In addition to the land donation, KSI Construction has pledged to provide 10 brand-new motorcycles to support Iru Ekun’s operations during the unveiling of their Abuja office.

“The backing of corporate organizations is essential for strengthening local security initiatives,” Igboho noted, emphasizing the need for increased involvement from businesses and individuals in tackling insecurity.

Dr. Koleola Emmanuel Oladeni, Group Managing Director of KSI Construction, explained that the company's support stems from Iru Ekun's positive impact on reducing crime rates in the region.

“We’ve witnessed a significant drop in kidnapping and banditry due to the effective collaboration of Iru Ekun personnel with police and military forces,” he said, underscoring the importance of community-backed security efforts.

Oladeni also urged other corporate entities and individuals to contribute to national security initiatives, stating that such support encourages volunteers dedicated to community safety.

In light of recent successes, Iru Ekun aims to further solidify its presence in Abuja, reinforcing its role in improving security across the South-West and beyond.

As the organization prepares for its unveiling, the collaboration between Iru Ekun and security agencies signals a proactive approach to tackling Nigeria’s pressing security challenges.
