The Divisional Officer of the Alagbon Division received a tip around 4 PM, indicating that the suspect was found with the missing woman, who had been reported as lost by her family. Following directives from the Owode-Yewa Area Commander, officers swiftly moved in to make the arrest.
During preliminary questioning, Toheeb claimed he encountered the woman the previous evening while she appeared distressed. He asserted that he brought her to his home for her safety, but the situation escalated when he allegedly attempted to have sexual relations with her after she had eaten. According to reports, she refused, and he is accused of forcibly assaulting her the following morning.
The woman's father was alerted to her whereabouts by concerned individuals who recognized her. He subsequently requested that the case be transferred to the Owode-Yewa Divisional Headquarters for further investigation. The father also raised concerns about his daughter leaving home with five phones and approximately ₦17,000, seeking an inquiry into those matters as well.
The case has now been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, which will conduct a thorough investigation. The So-Safe Corps emphasized the importance of reporting missing persons and suspected abuse cases promptly to ensure timely intervention.
Authorities are committed to ensuring justice in this matter, and the investigation will proceed according to due process.
