In a statement shared on X, Adebutu emphasized that he completed his digital party registration on time and submitted all required documentation to INEC before the deadline. “I remain a committed member of the PDP,” he stated.
The PDP candidate highlighted that his candidacy was validated during the party's primary, which was conducted in the presence of INEC officials.
He questioned the rationale behind his omission, especially since all other Ogun PDP candidates for various legislative positions appeared on the list.
“Given that the names of our candidates for the House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate are published, my omission raises serious questions,” he said.
Adebutu alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may have exerted undue pressure on INEC to exclude him.
He affirmed that the PDP would pursue the matter through the proper channels to ensure due process is upheld.
Additionally, Adebutu claimed the party has faced various attempts to hinder its campaign, including restrictions on billboards and harassment of members.
Despite these challenges, he urged his supporters to stay calm, stating that measures are being taken to resolve the issue.
“No amount of intimidation should prevent the people of Ogun State from choosing their leaders,” he asserted.
Adebutu expressed confidence that the situation would be rectified, reiterating his commitment to providing better leadership and improving the lives of Ogun residents.
“Our cause transcends any individual; it’s about our people’s dignity and their right to shape their future,” he concluded.
