INEC released its list of candidates for various positions on Saturday, but the NDC's candidates were notably missing from the Kano State section. Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofarmata, Secretary of the Kwankwasiyya Caucus and NDC's House of Representatives candidate in Kano, clarified the situation in a statement, confirming that the party had been assured that the omission was due to an error in data entry.
Kofarmata expressed optimism that INEC is actively working to rectify the issue. “We are confident that the names will be included soon,” he stated.
He reassured supporters that Gwarzo had completed his registration within the timeframe set by INEC. The NDC submitted the necessary details through the commission’s online portal, further strengthening their position.
Despite the setback, Kofarmata urged party members to remain calm and continue their campaign activities. “This is just a temporary setback, and we believe that the problem will be resolved shortly,” he added.
The party's leadership remains focused on overcoming this hurdle as they prepare for the upcoming elections. “We are committed to ensuring our candidates are on the ballot,” Kofarmata concluded.
As the situation develops, the NDC continues to rally its supporters, emphasizing that their mission remains unchanged. The party is determined to maintain momentum and engage with the electorate throughout this challenging period.
