Precious, a resident of Umuohia, Ogbor Hill, Aba, was apprehended by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) following complaints regarding an unpaid iPhone 17 Pro Max. The device was reportedly acquired through a payment-on-delivery arrangement back in April, which Precious failed to honor.
The situation escalated when Precious allegedly resorted to threats, enlisting thugs to intimidate the seller. The RRS received actionable intelligence, leading to his capture on September 22, 2026.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the arrest and stated that Precious has made confessional statements regarding the allegations. Further investigations revealed a pump-action shotgun in his possession, recovered on September 23.
Authorities are now actively pursuing other members of Precious’s alleged gang, who remain at large. The Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Afolabi, has urged the public to assist law enforcement by providing timely information to help prevent crime.
As investigations continue, Precious is expected to face charges in court once the inquiries are complete. The police reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order in the community.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities, contributing to a safer environment for all.
