We're Coasting to Victory," Davido Assures Accord Party Members Amid Arrest Plot Concerns

Afrobeats sensation Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, has raised alarms regarding a potential scheme to arrest members of the Accord Party as the governorship election in Osun State approaches.

In a recent post on his official X account, Davido urged supporters to remain vigilant, claiming he received intelligence about an imminent crackdown targeting party members.

His uncle, Ademola Adeleke, is the current governor of Osun State and is seeking re-election under the Accord Party platform.

“Accord members, stay safe! Just got intel, the next few hours they want to start arresting our people for nothing!” he warned. “The plan cannot work! Stay safe! Mount your guard! We are coasting to victory!”

The political landscape in Osun State has been increasingly tense, with rising security concerns and allegations of violence between supporters of rival parties.

Both factions have exchanged accusations of intimidation, further heightening the atmosphere.

Governor Adeleke has claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is utilizing federal institutions to intimidate his supporters. However, the APC has denied these allegations, asserting that they do not intend to use federal resources to influence the election.

As of now, no official comment has been made by local police or security agencies regarding Davido’s claims or the alleged plot against Accord Party members.

As the election date draws near, calls for peace and security continue to resonate among various political stakeholders. The unfolding situation underscores the critical need for a fair and peaceful electoral process in Osun State.
