Nasarawa Empowers 75 Residents with N18.7 Million in Business Grants"

In a significant boost for local entrepreneurs, 75 residents from the Nasarawa North Senatorial District received business grants totaling N18.7 million. 

The initiative, spearheaded by Dr. Kassim Muhammed-Kassim, the Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), aims to uplift less-privileged individuals and enhance their livelihoods.

The distribution of funds was officiated by Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, during an event in Akwanga Local Government Area. He emphasized that this initiative would strengthen small businesses and improve access to capital for traders, fostering grassroots economic growth.

Governor Sule praised Dr. Kassim for his commitment to social responsibility and encouraged beneficiaries to wisely invest the N250,000 each received. "I pray you turn this into N250 million," he urged, highlighting the potential for growth.

Dr. Kassim explained that beneficiaries were selected based on criteria ensuring they would effectively use the funds for entrepreneurial ventures. He stressed that the financial assistance was not linked to political affiliations, aiming solely to support those in need.

Drawing from his own experience, Dr. Kassim disclosed that he sourced the funds through a successful business selling school clothes in Ghana, advocating that others could also thrive with the right support.

"This gesture is designed to directly aid those lacking means to start their own businesses, especially amidst current economic challenges," he stated, urging beneficiaries to invest wisely for greater prosperity.

Additionally, he announced plans for a future empowerment program, which will provide N50,000 each to 300 individuals from Wamba, Akwanga, and Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Areas.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, promising to utilize the funds for their intended purpose. Notable recipients, including Usman Mohammed, Peter Joe, and Ahmed Usuf, thanked Dr. Kassim for his generosity and commitment to uplifting the less-privileged.

As the initiative unfolds, it serves as a beacon of hope for economic revitalization in the region, demonstrating the power of community support in fostering growth and opportunity.
