Adeleke Triumphs in Osun Election, Securing 19 LGAs

In a closely watched contest, Governor Ademola Adeleke has emerged victorious in the Osun State governorship election, clinching 19 out of 30 local government areas.

The results were finalized in the early hours of Sunday at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Osun.

The voting took place on Saturday, with local government collation officers gathering results from across the state. Adeleke's stronghold included key areas such as Ede-North, Osogbo, and Ife-Central, alongside several others.

Adeleke's winning LGAs also featured Ifelodun, Ilesa-West, and Iwo, showcasing his widespread support among the electorate.

On the other side, Bola Oyebamiji, the candidate from the All Progressives Congress (APC), managed to secure victory in 11 LGAs, including Olorunda and Ilesa-East.

His performance, although commendable, fell short of challenging Adeleke’s lead.

Interestingly, Irepodun was reported as a winning area for both candidates, raising questions about the accuracy of the results. This discrepancy is set to be verified against the official collation sheet.

The Chief Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Ogunwole, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, is yet to make a formal announcement regarding the final results. This declaration will follow a thorough verification process by INEC.

As the political landscape in Osun shifts, all eyes are on the official outcome, which is expected to confirm Adeleke's position as the elected governor once again.
