Celebrating Love and Legacy: El-Rufai's Family Marks 27 Years of Marriage

In a heartfelt tribute, Mohammed El-Rufai, the lawmaker for Kaduna North, recently celebrated his parents' 27th wedding anniversary. His father, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and mother, Asia, were honored in a touching Facebook post that highlighted their enduring love and commitment.

Mohammed called his mother the “glue” of the family, praising her for her intelligence, compassion, and dedication to helping vulnerable individuals.

He fondly recalled how she supported his education, even taking him back to Zaria Academy during a challenging time in his life.

Asia's impact extended beyond family; she was a staunch advocate for widows and orphans during her husband's tenure as governor.

Mohammed credited her with instilling values that guide his work representing Kaduna North, stating, “Every good thing we do for Kaduna North is due to her teachings.”

Reflecting on their marriage, he expressed admiration for his mother’s unwavering support for his father through various challenges, particularly emphasizing her strength during his father's current struggles with what Mohammed described as “illegal detention.”

The anniversary served as an opportunity for Mohammed to reflect on the couple's journey and the many lives they have touched over the years.

He described 27 years as a significant milestone, filled with cherished memories and impactful moments.

In his post, Mohammed prayed for his parents' continued happiness, good health, and blessings in their lives together.

He also urged the people of Kaduna North to join him in celebrating and praying for the couple, recognizing the importance of community support.

As the El-Rufai family marks this special occasion, their story serves as a reminder of love, resilience, and the profound impact of family values in public service.
