The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially announced Adeleke as the winner on Sunday.
In a press briefing following the declaration, Adeleke revealed that President Tinubu reached out to him to offer his best wishes.

Accord Party chieftain Pelumi Olajengbesi noted that Tinubu had contacted Adeleke even before the official results were announced.
He shared this information with journalists shortly after INEC declared Adeleke the winner.
“Let me clarify: even before the results were made public, Mr. President congratulated the Governor on Saturday night. That reflects good leadership,” Olajengbesi remarked.
Adeleke triumphed over his closest opponent, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), by a margin exceeding 60,000 votes.
