ADC Raises Alarm Over Alleged Plot to Arrest Aregbesola Ahead of Osun Governorship Election

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a warning regarding an alleged scheme to detain its National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, days before the upcoming governorship election in Osun State. 

The party claims to have credible reports suggesting that this move could disrupt their election activities. 

In a statement from its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC expressed concern over what it sees as ongoing intimidation and misuse of state institutions against opposition leaders. Aregbesola, a former governor of Osun State and Minister of the Interior, currently plays a pivotal role in the ADC.

The party insists that any lawful engagement by security agencies should follow established protocols, emphasizing that an arrest at this time would be perceived as an attempt to undermine their electoral efforts. 

They urge the Federal Government and security agencies to avoid actions that could jeopardize the election's integrity, warning that the nation is closely watching the situation unfold.
