The command's spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Saturday, saying the suspects are currently in police custody.
According to the police, the case was reported at the 'A' Division, Minna, on July 14 after the infant was allegedly taken from its mother through deception around the Mobil Roundabout area of the state capital.
Abiodun said detectives immediately launched an investigation and deployed intelligence, which led to the arrest of 24-year-old Chidi Johnson, popularly known as "Yaron Pastor," a resident of Abdulsalam Quarters, Minna.
During interrogation, Johnson allegedly confessed that he was approached by 22-year-old Zainab Ibrahim, who reportedly resides in Sokoto State but is originally from the Alagbado area of Minna, to procure a newborn after she allegedly suffered a miscarriage.
Police investigations revealed that Johnson allegedly lured the nursing mother to the Kasuwan-Gwari area under the guise of introducing her to a benefactor willing to provide food items and financial assistance.
The suspect was said to have led the woman and her companion to an uncompleted building near the Mobil Roundabout, where he offered them snacks and soft drinks while pretending to play with the baby.
Investigators alleged that Johnson seized the opportunity to flee with the infant through a rear exit of the building before escaping on a motorcycle.
Following sustained investigations, police arrested Ibrahim and successfully rescued the baby, who has since been reunited with the mother.
The police said both suspects remain in custody as investigations continue, adding that they will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
