The State Chairman of IPAC, Engr. Effiom Edet, made the projection on Saturday in Calabar while addressing journalists on the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and preparations for the next general elections.
Edet said the target is achievable if the current momentum in voter registration is sustained across the state's 18 local government areas with the support of key stakeholders.
He identified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), political parties, civil society organisations, youth and women groups, traditional institutions and religious leaders as critical partners in driving the mobilisation campaign.
According to him, the ongoing CVR exercise offers eligible residents a crucial opportunity to register and participate in shaping the state's political future.
He stressed that obtaining a Permanent Voter's Card (PVC) remains the first step toward meaningful democratic participation, urging eligible citizens not to miss the registration window.
Edet called on parents, community leaders and political stakeholders to intensify awareness campaigns at the grassroots, describing voter registration as a shared responsibility that would strengthen democracy and enhance the state's national relevance.
He noted that every registered voter contributes to building a stronger democratic system, adding that citizens who participate in elections play a direct role in determining the direction of governance.
The IPAC chairman also commended officials of INEC for their efforts in conducting the voter registration exercise, saying collaboration among stakeholders is essential for credible electoral processes.
He reaffirmed the council's commitment to promoting peaceful politics, issue-based campaigns, political tolerance, voter education and active citizen engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Edet added that IPAC would continue working with relevant institutions and the state government to strengthen democratic values and encourage broader participation in the electoral process.
