Speaking during a live interview on Twitch with content creator @Theboyfromojo, Davido expressed admiration for the Barbadian singer, while admitting that a collaboration may not happen soon because of her focus on business.
"Rihanna is my dream collab, but she's not into music again. She makes billions from her makeup business now," he said.
The singer added that he believes they would create great music together but acknowledged Rihanna's commitment to her Fenty Beauty and fashion empire, which has kept her away from releasing new music in recent years.
Despite the uncertainty, the two stars have previously shown mutual admiration. Rihanna once described Davido's hit song Unavailable, featuring Musa Keys, as her favourite track, prompting the Nigerian star to affectionately refer to her as "my Ri Ri."
Davido has built an impressive catalogue of international collaborations, working with global stars such as Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby and DaBaby.
Rihanna, whose last studio album, Anti, was released in 2016, has since focused on expanding her highly successful Fenty brand while making only occasional musical appearances.
