First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Urges South-East Women to Rally Behind Prosperity Ahead of 2027 Elections

In a spirited call to action, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged women in the South-East to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid for 2027.

Speaking at the South-East Zonal APC Women Presidential Rally in Enugu, she emphasized that the country is transitioning from challenging economic reforms to a brighter future.

Using childbirth as a metaphor, Mrs. Tinubu likened the nation’s economic struggles to the pain of labor, declaring, “The pain of labor to birth a child is over.

It is time for joy and prosperity.” Her message resonated with the thousands of women gathered, reinforcing the belief that economic stability is within reach.

Highlighting the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party committed to its promises, she expressed confidence in the President’s dedication to transforming Nigeria.

“We are approaching a period of economic prosperity after enduring the challenges of reform,” she stated.

The First Lady also showcased the achievements of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), which has provided financial assistance, skills acquisition programs, and equipment to support women, youth, and vulnerable groups.

As part of the rally, she launched the distribution of empowerment items to 5,000 women in Enugu State.

Prominent figures, including Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah and other APC leaders, attended the event, reinforcing the party's unified front ahead of the upcoming elections.

The presence of traditional rulers, represented by Igwe Samuel Asadu, further solidified the rally's importance, as they pledged their support for the Tinubu administration.

As the First Lady emphasized the need for solidarity among women in the South-East, she promised that the empowerment programs would continue, ensuring lasting benefits for the community.

Her appeal marks a significant moment in the lead-up to the 2027 elections, with hopes pinned on a prosperous future for Nigeria.

With the support of women and traditional leaders alike, the rally aimed to build momentum for the Tinubu administration’s second-term ambitions, showcasing the collective commitment to advancing the nation’s economic prospects.
