Betta Edu Declares Tinubu's Re-Election Inevitable as APC Women Mobilize for 2027

Dr. Betta Edu, Director of Women Mobilisation for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, expressed unwavering confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure re-election in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking at the 2026 Pre-Inaugural Women’s Summit and Empowerment Programme in Abuja, Edu praised First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for spearheading initiatives aimed at empowering women across Nigeria.

The summit, themed “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity,” was attended by key figures, including the Vice President's wife, Hajia Nana Shettima, and Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma.

During the event, Edu led participants in a chant supporting Tinubu’s re-election, asserting that he would remain in office until 2031.

She revealed that APC women are mobilizing nationwide to secure what she labeled a “strong mandate” for both Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The ambitious campaign aims to gather 40 million votes, with structures activated across all 36 states, including local government areas and polling units.

Edu emphasized that the mobilization extends beyond rallies, focusing on grassroots networks where women leaders can effectively engage communities and communicate the administration’s policies.

Additionally, the initiative will create opportunities for women in enterprise, agriculture, and skills development, aiming for comprehensive community empowerment.

“We are entering the 2027 electoral season with purpose and determination. Our target is clear: 40 million women’s votes,” she declared.

She urged APC women to stay united and organized, reinforcing the campaign’s slogan: “40 Million Women Votes! One Coordinated Mobilisation! One Voice, One Movement, One Mandate for 2027.”

The summit also featured the distribution of support items, including motorbikes and farm trucks, to women beneficiaries, further promoting economic empowerment.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu engaged in closed-door discussions with female APC candidates, emphasizing the importance of collaboration as the election approaches.

As the APC gears up for the 2027 elections, the focus on women's mobilization signals a strategic effort to strengthen their electoral base and enhance political participation.
