Adeleke Backs Tinubu for Presidency, Supports Accord Party in Local Elections

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared that voters in the state will cast their ballots for Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the upcoming 2027 election while simultaneously supporting candidates from the Accord Party for National and State Assembly positions.

Addressing supporters in Ede during the inauguration of the campaign committee for Lere Oyewumi, the Accord Party's candidate for Osun West Senator, Adeleke emphasized that this dual voting strategy would not lead to confusion.

He dismissed concerns surrounding the ‘Rainbow Coalition’ led by Nyesom Wike, which aims to rally support for Tinubu’s re-election.

"Let me state again, we are only going to vote for the APC in the presidential election.

The National and State Assembly elections will be for the Accord Party," he asserted, urging unity among voters.

Adeleke praised Senator Oyewumi as a commendable representative with a strong service record, expressing confidence in his re-election.

There is nothing like 99.9 percent loyalty. Your loyalty should be 100 percent," he urged the campaign committee members.

Senator Oyewumi acknowledged that the growing acceptance of the Accord Party in Osun is a testament to Adeleke's leadership, assuring constituents of ongoing infrastructure and social development, including improved roads, schools, and hospitals.

The Director-General of the campaign committee, Adesoye Oyetunde, highlighted Oyewumi's accomplishments, citing road construction in eight local government areas and support for healthcare interventions.

Adeleke's endorsement of Tinubu is particularly noteworthy, considering he won re-election on the Accord Party platform after defeating the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in August.

Despite the political rivalry, Adeleke has remained steadfast in his support for Tinubu, citing shared regional interests and a desire for continued infrastructure development in the South-West.

As the elections approach, the political landscape in Osun remains dynamic, with Adeleke’s unique strategy aiming to bridge party lines while galvanizing support for local candidates.
