2027 Election Will Be Atiku’s Easiest as Hungry Nigerians Seek Change

Phrank Shaibu, a communication aide to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has boldly claimed that the 2027 presidential election will be the easiest for his principal, citing widespread economic hardship as a key factor in voters' decisions.

During an interview on the Mic On Podcast, Shaibu expressed confidence that Nigerians dissatisfied with the current administration under President Bola Tinubu will rally behind Atiku, who previously garnered 29% of the votes in the 2023 election.

“Hunger and poverty will significantly influence voters in 2027,” Shaibu stated, asserting that impoverished Nigerians eager for affordable living conditions will turn to Atiku on January 16.

He emphasized that dissatisfaction with the current government’s performance would drive votes towards Atiku, claiming that both Tinubu and his inner circle are aware of their administration's failures.

“Tinubu knows he has failed. His family and ministers are aware of it too,” Shaibu remarked, underscoring the disconnect between the government and the citizens it serves.

The aide also criticized the government’s decision to hire thousands of social media influencers to promote its accomplishments, questioning the need for such measures if the administration had genuinely improved citizens' lives.

“Why hire 4,000 influencers to showcase achievements if there’s real impact? A successful government should be able to demonstrate its successes without struggle,” he argued.

Shaibu’s comments reflect a growing sentiment among Nigerians who are increasingly frustrated with economic conditions and government performance. His predictions for Atiku signal a strategic shift as the elections approach, focusing on the public’s desire for change.

As the political landscape evolves, it remains to be seen how these dynamics will play out in the upcoming election. Shaibu's statements are likely to resonate with many who are feeling the pinch of economic challenges in the country.
