Wike dismissed the notion that sitting governors wield absolute control, stating, “You do not need to be governor before you can be in charge. I am in charge here.” He underscored his commitment to shaping political outcomes as the nation heads into the 2027 elections.
During his visit to Rivers State, Wike clarified that his intent was to reconnect with his political base and family, asserting that he would not sit idly by while others campaigned. “My coming home is about reconnecting with my people and ensuring they are engaged,” he explained.
He also took the opportunity to defend his record as a former governor, referencing the completion of significant infrastructure projects, including 12 flyovers in Rivers State, as a testament to his leadership capabilities. “I have changed the narrative; no party will win the presidency in FCT,” Wike declared confidently.
