During the flag-off ceremony for the party's gubernatorial candidate in Nasarawa State, Mr. Yusuf Nya Agirikwe, the PDP national deputy chairman north, rallied supporters at the party secretariat in Lafia. "I am here to affirm that PDP holds the people's mandate to govern," he stated, urging attendees to defend their votes.
Agirikwe expressed confidence in the party's ability to secure victory for their candidate, Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu, and encouraged attendees to spread the word that "PDP is the winning party."
The absence of the national chairman and leader, Nyesom Wike, was noted, but not allowed to overshadow the enthusiasm of the gathering. Dr. Ombugadu dedicated his candidacy to the women, youth, and leaders of Nasarawa, thanking them for their steadfast support.
"We must protect our votes to ensure we have a government that truly represents the people," Ombugadu asserted, highlighting the need for effective governance to improve the lives of farmers and utilize the state's abundant resources.
He pledged that, if elected, healthcare for the vulnerable would be a top priority, promising essential services for pregnant women and support for farmers. "Under my watch, everyone in Nasarawa will matter," he affirmed.
Ombugadu also revealed a comprehensive five-year manifesto focused on security and women's development. He expressed gratitude to the party’s national leadership for their backing and affirmed his commitment to aligning with their directives.
The event concluded with a strong sense of unity and purpose among the PDP members, who are ready to mobilize for the upcoming elections.
As the countdown to 2027 continues, the PDP is determined to rally its base and secure a victory that reflects the will of the people.
