Speaking at the 2026 Plateau Annual Convention of the General Council of the Assemblies of God Nigeria in Jos, Mutfwang emphasized the importance of safeguarding lives and property. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the state, particularly in terms of security, but expressed confidence in the ability to restore peace through collaboration with security agencies.
Mutfwang praised the church's role in promoting moral and spiritual development and urged Christian leaders to transcend divisions to foster unity and progress. "We will protect our people with all that we have, within the ambit of the law," he declared, highlighting his administration's unwavering focus on the welfare of Plateau citizens.
The governor also called for collective action among Christians to overcome bitterness and embrace humility, love, and reconciliation, reflecting the teachings of Jesus Christ. He reiterated that his political involvement stems from a desire to serve both God and humanity.
During the convention, the former General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Nigeria commended Mutfwang for his dedication to public safety and community development. Rev. Jacob S. Langs, representing the North East Zone, acknowledged the governor's contributions to both the church and the broader community.
Mutfwang concluded the event by making a donation aimed at empowering youth and supporting widows, reinforcing his commitment to uplifting the community.
With a focus on unity and resilience, Mutfwang's administration seeks to challenge the prevailing narratives of violence and division in Plateau State.
