Achimugu confirmed the news via a post on his X platform, stating he had spoken directly with Jibo, who is now safe and sound.
The NCAA official explained that Jibo's mobile phone and passport were temporarily held by Customs officials for clarification, which prevented her from contacting her family.
Fortunately, she has since been cleared by authorities and has recovered her belongings.
“She has contacted her family and assured them of her safety,” Achimugu stated, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of concern from Nigerians during her disappearance.
He also praised Yusuf Adesoga, a fellow Nigerian, for his dedication in assisting the search. Adesoga visited various security agencies in Doha, ultimately tracing Jibo to her location.
Achimugu commended Adesoga's efforts, highlighting the inconvenience he faced during his search for Jibo.
The alarm was raised by Jibo's brother, Jonathan, who grew worried after she failed to respond to calls for over 48 hours.
Jibo had traveled from Lagos to Doha on Qatar Airways flight QR1408 and was last seen collecting her luggage at the airport.
Earlier, Achimugu confirmed that CCTV footage verified Jibo's safe arrival in Doha, as well as her departure from the airport terminal.
With Jibo now located, Achimugu considers the matter closed from his end, thanking everyone who contributed to the search efforts.
This incident brought together a community, showcasing the power of collective concern and support in times of crisis.
Jibo's safe return serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and community in safeguarding one another.
