Expressing her horror, Soludo highlighted the recent rescue of four children connected to the investigation, emphasizing the urgent need to protect the vulnerable. The Anambra State Police arrested a 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, after disturbing footage surfaced, reportedly showing her using sex toys on a minor.
The police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest and noted that four children aged between two and nine were rescued during the operation, along with relevant evidence for the ongoing investigation.
In a heartfelt statement, Soludo expressed her deep concern over the trauma inflicted on children and reiterated that such acts should never be tolerated in any society. “Children are meant to be protected, loved, and nurtured, not subjected to any form of abuse,” she stated.
The First Lady praised the police for their swift action and urged a thorough investigation to ensure all involved parties are brought to justice. “I will be following this case closely to ensure the children are protected and that justice is served,” she added.
Soludo also stressed the importance of providing medical, psychological, and rehabilitation support to the rescued children, acknowledging that their physical safety is just the beginning of their healing journey.
She called on parents, guardians, and community members to remain vigilant and speak out against any signs of abuse, emphasizing that silence can no longer be an option when it comes to the safety of children.
Under the Solution Administration, she affirmed that Anambra stands firmly against all forms of violence and exploitation, pledging to protect its women and children with unwavering commitment.
