The announcement came via a statement from his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, received in Osogbo, the state capital.
Adeleke is expected to spend time in the United Kingdom and other undisclosed European locations for rest and medical consultations.
“I’m taking a short break to refresh and prepare to better serve the people of Osun State,” the governor expressed.
In a related move, Adeleke directed the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to investigate the recent appointment of a rival king in Koka Ilase, which has led to allegations of dual kingship.
“The ministry is tasked with reviewing this situation and ensuring adherence to chieftaincy laws and traditions,” the statement noted.
The governor highlighted the importance of resolving this conflict, stating, “I’ve heard of another king being appointed outside the recognized one. I urge the ministry to clarify the situation and provide a report.”
Adeleke also called for peace among stakeholders during this investigative process, asserting that kingship matters are governed by existing laws and traditions.
As the governor enjoys his break, the chieftaincy issue remains a pressing concern for the local community, with many awaiting the ministry's findings.
