The announcement, made through a circular by the Head of Service, Elder Ayanleye Aina, emphasizes the importance of civic engagement, allowing all public sector workers—except those in essential services—to focus on their voting responsibilities.
In a pre-election message, Adeleke urged state workers to rally their informal counterparts, artisans, and professional groups to ensure a strong turnout at the polls.
He highlighted the supportive relationship between his administration and labor, urging workers to protect the gains made during his tenure.
“The time for action has come,” Adeleke stated, underscoring the need for a united front in defending democratic rights.
He called on citizens to safeguard the progress achieved over the past three and a half years, asserting that a return to previous challenges must be avoided.
