Ooni of Ife Welcomes Baby Girl, Expanding Royal Family After Twin Princes

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has joyfully announced the birth of a baby girl with his wife, Olori Oluwatosin, just three months after celebrating the arrival of twin princes with another wife, Olori Mariam Ajibola.

In a heartfelt post on his official Facebook page, the monarch expressed gratitude to God for the safe delivery, confirming that both mother and child are in excellent health. “To God Almighty be all the glory for His unfailing grace and the precious gift of new life,” he wrote.

The Ooni extended his congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa, celebrating the arrival of the royal princess. “May the Almighty preserve this divine gift and cause her to flourish in wisdom, grace, and honour,” he added.

This latest addition to the royal family follows the birth of twin princes in May, which the Ooni had also announced with joy on social media. He expressed gratitude then for the health of both the mother and the newborns.

The Ooni's family expansion comes on the heels of his marriage to six wives within a short span after his previous marriage to Olori Naomi ended. His new queens include Mariam Anako, Elizabeth Akinmudai, Tobiloba Philips, Ashley Adegoke, Ronke Ademiluyi, and Temitope Adesegun.

During his 48th birthday and seventh coronation anniversary, the Ooni explained the traditional expectations that led him to marry multiple wives, emphasizing his commitment to the customs of Ile Ife.

As the royal family grows, the Ooni’s announcements have captured public attention, adding a vibrant chapter to the rich traditions of the Yoruba monarchy.

With both the royal princess and the twin princes now part of the family, the Ooni's lineage continues to thrive, marking a significant moment in the history of the House of Oduduwa.
