The announcement took place at the grand finale in the Buba Marwa Auditorium on the LASU Main Campus, where the governor celebrated the achievements of the university's top scholars.
For the 2024/2025 academic session, Ayilara Olawale from the Department of Project Management Technology was recognized as the overall best graduating student, boasting an impressive CGPA of 4.96 and graduating with First Class Honours.
Meanwhile, for the 2025/2026 academic session, Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide from the Department of Aerospace Engineering claimed the title of best graduating student with a stellar CGPA of 4.97, also graduating with First Class Honours.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized that the monetary reward serves as recognition of the students' hard work, dedication, and contributions to the growth of Lagos State and LASU.
A total of 20,604 students graduated during the ceremonies, including 375 who received Doctorate degrees, showcasing the institution's commitment to academic excellence.
