He stated that concerns regarding wage and pension adjustments are currently receiving urgent attention.
A statement from the ministry's Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr. H. O. Ogubike, highlighted that the minister is actively engaging relevant military, pension, and financial authorities to find sustainable solutions that will prevent veterans from being unfairly disadvantaged.
Musa urged veterans to remain patient and calm as the government works towards resolving their concerns.
He stressed the importance of constructive dialogue in addressing outstanding issues while maintaining the dignity and respect that veterans deserve.
The minister outlined that any adjustments to veterans’ entitlements would be calculated accurately, adequately funded, and implemented according to existing regulations and due process.
This approach aims to guarantee sustainability and avoid disparities in benefit payments.
He reassured veterans that the Ministry of Defence would maintain communication with their representatives and provide updates on progress in resolving the issues raised.
Musa reiterated the government's recognition of the patriotism, courage, and sacrifices of Nigeria’s military veterans, emphasizing that their service should be acknowledged not just in words but through tangible actions regarding their welfare and entitlements.
As the government moves forward, veterans can expect continued engagement and support as they await the resolution of their concerns.
