Governor Ademola Adeleke of the People's Democratic Party was declared the winner, securing 511,067 votes against Bola Oyebamiji of the APC, who garnered 444,815 votes.
Oyintiloye emphasized that the election results should not be viewed merely as a loss but as a chance for the party to regroup, enhance its organizational structure, and learn from its experiences in preparation for future contests.
He applauded President Bola Tinubu's proactive support during the election, calling it a testament to his leadership and dedication to the party's advancement in Osun.
“The President’s involvement has revitalized our party, reinforcing our confidence and resolve,” he stated, highlighting the importance of unity and discipline among party members.
Despite being in the opposition, Oyintiloye noted that the APC's performance—over 444,000 votes—signals its enduring presence and potential strength in the state.
He praised former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for his unwavering support and commitment to the party, as well as the contributions from other key figures like James Faleke and Senator Ajibola Basiru.
"We have built a formidable political foundation that extends beyond one election," he remarked, urging party members to focus on long-term growth and resilience.
Oyintiloye concluded by stressing the need for a collective effort to learn from this experience, remain united, and prepare for future elections, reiterating that politics is about building lasting structures and maintaining public trust.
As the APC looks to the future, Oyintiloye's call for perseverance serves as a reminder that political journeys often involve setbacks but also opportunities for growth and renewal.
