The Tinubu Torchbearers (TTB) has taken its grassroots mobilisation campaign to Ogun State, with the inauguration of the state chapter and swearing-in of its executives and Local Government coordinators ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The TTB is an initiative of the APC National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Alile Idele, focused on strengthening grassroots mobilisation, promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda and building an effective nationwide network ahead of 2027.
The platform was formally launched in June by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, who is regarded by members of the group as its mother, leader and mentor.
The Ogun State inauguration, held at the APC State Secretariat in Abeokuta, brought together women leaders, party faithful, political stakeholders and other members of the party from across the state.
The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who is also a member of TTB, served as the Chief Host of the event.
Salako-Oyedele, who disclosed that she had been inaugurated into the group in Abuja in June, said she had joined the Ogun team to contribute to its grassroots mobilisation efforts. She also pledged to go door-to-door to touch the hearts of the people and canvass support for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Representing the First Lady at the Ogun launch was Hon. Princess Dr. Sandra Oloyede Williams, the South-West Zonal Leader of the Tinubu Torchbearers.
The Ogun State Coordinator, Mrs. Erelu Helen Modupe Usman, was formally inaugurated alongside other state executives, while Local Government coordinators were also sworn in to drive the activities of the organisation across the state.
The newly inaugurated executives were assigned various responsibilities, including administration, finance, organisation and other areas necessary for the effective coordination of the group.
Speaking with journalists at the event, Erelu Helen Modupe Usman expressed appreciation to the Deputy Governor for her motherly support and for serving as the Chief Host of the inauguration.
She also appreciated the Ogun State APC Women Leader, Alhaja Aminat Adigun, for her support and leadership, describing the cooperation of party leaders and stakeholders as important to the success of the TTB structure in the state.
Erelu said the Ogun chapter would focus on taking the Renewed Hope message closer to the people while strengthening engagement and mobilisation at the grassroots.
She urged the newly inaugurated executives and Local Government coordinators to remain committed to their responsibilities and work collectively towards achieving the objectives of the Tinubu Torchbearers.
Among the notable personalities at the event were Alhaja Faida Sarumi, Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government; Hon. Tinuke Bello; Hon. Kikelomo Delana; Chief Mrs. Ojaronke Ogunremi, NPIC; and Hon. Adijat Adeleye, alongside other party leaders and stakeholders.
The Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, was represented at the event by Chief Kasimawo.
The inauguration marks a new phase for the Tinubu Torchbearers in Ogun State, with the group set to deepen grassroots mobilisation, strengthen women's participation and take the Renewed Hope message to communities across the state ahead of 2027.
