Mr P Speaks Out: 'I Never Wanted P-Square Back

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, known as Mr P, has opened up about his controversial reunion with twin brother Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, calling it a “fake reunion” rather than a genuine reconciliation.

In a candid video shared on Instagram, Mr P recounted the events leading to their brief reunion after years of public conflict. The brothers, who initially split in 2017, had a short-lived reconciliation in 2021, only to see their relationship crumble again due to ongoing disputes involving their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

Mr P revealed he received a message from his caretaker upon returning from Atlanta, indicating that Paul wanted to apologize and seek forgiveness. Despite attempts to reach Paul by phone, Mr P found members of Paul’s team waiting at his home upon arrival.

His wife informed him that Paul had visited their house at 4 a.m., appearing visibly shaken and expressing exhaustion. Encouraged by family members, Mr P approached Paul, and the two embraced, leading to a temporary family reconciliation.

However, despite the emotional moment, Mr P clarified his intentions were never aimed at reviving P-Square as a music group. “I told him we are back as brothers, but I am not part of P-Square,” he stated.

The following day, Paul expressed his desire to focus on rebuilding their music duo, but Mr P remained firm in his decision. Jude Okoye later suggested they film a video to announce their reunion to fans, but Mr P felt uneasy about the authenticity of the gesture.

Although many fans celebrated their reunion, Mr P stayed skeptical, particularly because of a comment Paul made that night: “Peter, I do not care if you like what I am about to say or not, fk Rudeboy, fk Mr P, bring back P-Square.”

Mr P emphasized that his priority was restoring family ties, not reviving their music group. “I never wanted P-Square. I just wanted us to come back as family,” he concluded.
