Kaltho announced her decision on Saturday, saying she took the step after extensive consultations and in response to an appeal by former Gombe State Governor and PDP leader, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo.
The former aspirant, who was the only female contender in the party's governorship race, said party unity and the overall interest of Gombe State informed her decision.
According to her, she chose to set aside personal ambition in order to strengthen the PDP's chances in the 2027 election.
Kaltho described Dankwambo as a respected leader whose counsel she values, adding that members of the party must work together to achieve a common goal.
She urged party supporters and stakeholders to remain united and committed to delivering quality leadership for the people of Gombe State through the PDP.
Reacting to the development, the party's governorship candidate, Prof. Isa-Ali Pantami, commended Kaltho for what he described as a demonstration of political maturity and commitment to the unity of the party.
Pantami said Kaltho remains an important stakeholder in the PDP and assured her that every member would be carried along in the party's activities as preparations intensify for the 2027 polls.
As part of ongoing reconciliation efforts, Pantami visited Kaltho at her residence to appreciate her decision to withdraw the suit and reaffirm his commitment to fostering unity within the party.
The move is expected to strengthen internal cohesion within the Gombe PDP as the party begins early mobilisation ahead of the next governorship election.
