The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has appealed to the aggrieved groups and individuals opposed to the re-appointment of Prof Adewale Musa-Olomu as the Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre Idi-Aba Abeokuta to have a rethink and sheath their swords in the overall interest of the Centre.

The royal father gave the advice when the Medical Director led members of his Management team and some union leaders on a courtesy visit to the Palace.

According to the Press release made available to the Press men by the FMC, Head of Public Relations,Segun Orisajo, Oba Gbadebo said he was particularly disturbed over the ugly events that culminated in the delay in re-appointing the Medical Director for a second term.

Kabiyesi remarked that having got a second term re-appointment in a rather hard way, it was time for all and sundry to "bury their differences and join the Medical Director in his mission towards improved medical services and actualization of his lofty dreams for the FMCA.

"Quoting from the Scriptures, the Kabiyesi said " To everything there is time. A time to fight and a time to refrain from fighting. My believe is that you don't have to keep on fighting"

Oba Gbadebo therefore assured the Medical Director of his readiness to reach out unto the opposition so that " we can all reunite and work harmoniously towards the common goal of fast tracking the development and growth of FMCA"

Speaking earlier, the Medical Director profusely thanked Oba Gbadebo for his genuine interest in the overall development of Egbaland in general and FMCA in particular.

Prof Musa-Olomu said since his re-appointment, he has been doing his best to preach peace, forgiveness and reconciliation by reaching out to those who are on the other side.

He said the vision towards the establishment of the University of Medicine and Medical Sciences was still fully on course with a promise that the next four years ahead will witness surpassing infrastructural and manpower developments.

"The FMCA JOHESU Chairman Comrade Sunday Olatokun had praised the Medical Director for his sensitivity to the welfare of the entire staff which he noted had brought smiles to the faces of many hitherto stagnated staff" Orisajo stressed.
