To promote national unity and integration, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has concluded all necessary arrangements to commence its 2021 zonal preliminaries of sports and cultural festivals.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of NYSC in Bauchi, Mr. Suleiman Aliyu on Monday, made it known that the Director General of NYSC, Brig-Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim has approved the commencement of the festivals.
Mr Aliyu said that, the festival which was to sharpen corps members’ sporting skills, learn about the cultural background of other tribes, would take place between Wednesday 22 and Saturday 25, September, 2021 across six zones of Bauchi, Delta, Enugu, Jigawa, Osun states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to the statement, states that would be competing in the Bauchi zone include; Adamawa, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, Taraba and Yobe states.
It noted that Corps members from the aforementioned states would be competing in Football, Volleyball, Track Dance, Drama and Comedy.
The statement also observed that winners of the preliminary stage will qualify for finals which will be decided in Abuja on a date to be announced later.
