Seyi Makinde Reshuffles His Cabinet: New Chief of Staff and Due Process DG Appointed

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has made significant changes to his administration by appointing Bashorun Akinwole, known as Wolekanle, as his new Chief of Staff. Additionally, Mrs. Aderonke Adedayo has been named the Director-General of the Due Process Office.

The announcements were revealed in a statement from the governor's Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, and signed by Prof. Musibau Babatunde, the Secretary to the State Government. These appointments take immediate effect.

Akinwole, a grassroots politician, previously held the position of Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission. His extensive experience in local governance is expected to enhance Makinde's administration.

Mrs. Adedayo, who is currently the Special Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies, will now juggle her existing responsibilities with her new role. This dual capacity aims to streamline processes within the state government.

Governor Makinde congratulated both appointees and urged them to serve Oyo State with loyalty, commitment, and dedication. He emphasized the importance of their roles in advancing the state's development.

These changes come as a response to the resignation of the former Chief of Staff, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, who stepped down from his position on the same day. In his resignation letter, Ogunwuyi expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and highlighted the accomplishments of Makinde's administration.

Ogunwuyi's resignation marks a notable shift within the governor's circle, as he is one of several aides who have recently departed. His exit may signal a broader reshaping of the team as the state approaches pivotal political challenges.

The appointments reflect Makinde's strategy to infuse new energy into his administration, particularly as Oyo State prepares for future governance challenges. Akinwole's grassroots experience and Adedayo's dual role could be instrumental in navigating these complexities.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, the governor's reshuffle highlights the importance of effective leadership and strategic appointments in achieving developmental goals.

With these changes, Governor Makinde aims to solidify his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability, especially in the Due Process Office, which plays a crucial role in governance.

The new appointments are expected to foster a more responsive and proactive government, enhancing public service delivery across Oyo State.

As the administration moves forward, all eyes will be on Akinwole and Adedayo to see how they adapt to their new responsibilities and contribute to the governor's vision for the state.
