The Oyo State Government has expressed grave concern over the recent abduction of several corps members from Oyo State in Imo, labeling the incident as both distressing and unacceptable.

In a statement released on Friday by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, the government extended its heartfelt sympathies to the affected individuals and their families.

The Oyo State administration condemned the act in the strongest terms, emphasizing its commitment to the safe return of the abducted corps members. The government is actively collaborating with security agencies, the Imo State Government, and the leadership of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to facilitate a swift and coordinated response.

“Our priority is to secure the safe release of our young citizens. We will spare no effort in ensuring they are reunited with their families unharmed,” the statement affirmed.

Governor Seyi Makinde has instructed that all necessary resources be mobilized to tackle this pressing issue. The safety and well-being of every Oyo indigene, both within the state and beyond, remains a top priority for his administration.

The government has urged families of the kidnapped corps members to remain calm, assuring them that efforts are ongoing to secure their loved ones' release. Furthermore, it appealed to security agencies to heighten their rescue operations and bring the culprits to justice.

As the situation develops, the Oyo State Government remains resolute in its stand against such heinous acts and is committed to ensuring a safer environment for all its citizens.
