Edu praised the food bank, designed to assist pregnant and lactating women, malnourished children, and others in need, emphasizing its potential to transform lives. "This facility will provide nutritional support while boosting local farmers and producers," she stated.
Following the launch, Edu expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife for spearheading the initiative. "It’s one of the most significant innovations aimed at reaching those who need it most in Nigeria," she added.
The food bank will allow vulnerable individuals to access fresh food whenever necessary, significantly impacting their well-being. Edu also commended the Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, and his wife, Eyoanwan, for their support during this pivotal event.
In addition to the food bank, Edu lauded the recent commissioning of an Information and Communication Technology center at the University of Cross River State. This center aims to equip young people, especially women, with essential digital skills for a technology-driven economy.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for young people to develop skills in AI and more,” Edu remarked, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in today’s job market.
With her recent appointment as the director of women mobilization in the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Edu's advocacy for women's empowerment continues to gain momentum.
