In a statement released on Tuesday, General Manager Adebisi Adelabu announced that the grace period for obtaining permits has ended, urging all vehicle owners to comply immediately.
“The enforcement signifies the conclusion of the extended grace period, allowing customers ample time to regularize their activities and secure their permits,” Adelabu stated.
The initiative aims to enhance compliance with parking regulations, ensure accountability, and improve the management of parking systems throughout Lagos.
Despite previous reminders and direct communications, many customers have yet to acquire their 2026 permits, prompting this decisive action from LASPA.
Adelabu reiterated that the enforcement is not punitive but essential for restoring order within the state's parking ecosystem.
“Valid parking permits and accurate customer records are crucial for LASPA to effectively manage and regulate parking services,” she emphasized.
Customers who disregard the 2026 Demand Notices face severe penalties, including significant fines and immediate suspension of operations, in accordance with the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018.
“The enforcement is a necessary measure to ensure compliance and maintain efficiency in Lagos’ parking system,” Adelabu added.
To assist customers, LASPA personnel are available to provide guidance, including support with online payment and registration processes.
Adelabu also called on members of the public to cooperate with enforcement officers and report unauthorized parking activities to the authority.
