Yilwatda highlighted the temporary nature of political differences, advocating for the enduring bonds of brotherhood to take precedence over electoral rivalries. His remarks came as a response to the increasing political tensions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Compassion, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence are virtues we can draw from the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad,” he stated, urging citizens to adopt these values in navigating Nigeria’s current challenges.
He warned against the exploitation of ethnic, religious, and political differences, stressing that such divisions only weaken the fabric of the nation. “No political contest should destroy the bonds that unite us,” he asserted, calling for a collective effort to resist division, intolerance, and violence.
As the nation prepares for the upcoming elections, Yilwatda encouraged Nigerians to view their diversity as a source of strength. He also urged the Muslim community to pray for lasting peace, security, and prosperity in Nigeria, as well as for the wisdom of its leaders.
“Despite our challenges, Nigeria remains a nation of immense talent and resilience,” he added, expressing hope for a united future.
