Adeleke Pledges Osun Votes to Tinubu, Calls for Political Unity

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has pledged to deliver the state’s votes to President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing the importance of integrity in politics.

During a visit from Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adeleke assured that his commitment is genuine and unwavering. “I don’t make empty promises; I mean it 100 percent,” he affirmed.

Adeleke described Tinubu as his “dear father” and urged Osun politicians to set aside their differences to support the President. He highlighted the values instilled in him by his father, a former diplomat and labor union leader, emphasizing that commitments must be fulfilled.

The governor recounted his role in political negotiations that led to the emergence of Godswill Akpabio as Senate President and Tajudeen Abbas as Speaker of the House of Representatives. He noted that he successfully convinced lawmakers from Osun to back the President’s preferred candidates.

“I don’t play political games or make promises I don’t intend to keep,” Adeleke stated, reinforcing his belief in honoring political commitments. He called on all residents of Osun to unite for the state’s development and the success of the President.

Adeleke’s remarks come amid ongoing political maneuvering ahead of the 2027 elections, highlighting the need for cooperation among different political factions. He stressed that political differences should not hinder progress or the implementation of beneficial initiatives for Osun State.

As the political landscape evolves, Adeleke’s commitment to Tinubu and call for unity may influence upcoming electoral dynamics in Osun and beyond.
