Abubakar Malami Launches ADC Campaign Council in Kebbi

Former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami has inaugurated a 600-member campaign council for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State, urging members to foster unity and engage in issue-based politics as the 2027 general elections approach. 

The inauguration, held in Kebbi, marked a significant step in building a grassroots campaign structure capable of mobilizing support across the state’s 21 local government areas. Malami emphasized that the initiative represents more than just appointments; it is a coordinated effort to communicate the ADC’s message to every community.

“The Campaign Council is a reflection of our collective ADC campaign. It is not about one candidate or position; it encompasses all from governorship to the National Assembly,” he stated. Malami acknowledged the party’s senatorial candidates, urging all members to work together as one political family.

He cautioned against tribalism, sectionalism, and personal rivalries, warning that internal divisions could undermine the party's objectives. “Where there are disagreements, let us reconcile. Our diversity must become our strength,” he said.

Malami introduced the theme “One ADC, One Campaign,” urging candidates and supporters to prioritize the collective interest of the party over personal ambitions. He highlighted that political competition should not damage community relationships, reinforcing the idea of unity in diversity.

“After the elections, we will still worship together, attend the same markets, and celebrate together. No political ambition is worth destroying those bonds,” he added.

The former minister characterized the campaign council appointments as a call to service rather than rewards, tasking members with mobilizing support, reconciling grievances, and effectively communicating party programs to voters.

As political parties ramp up their grassroots mobilization efforts ahead of the elections, Malami's remarks underscore the importance of cooperation and respect among party members. He urged them to act as ambassadors and bridge-builders within their communities.

This inauguration marks the beginning of a new phase for the ADC in Kebbi, with Malami encouraging members to remain focused on the party’s message and the interests of the people. “We choose unity over division, cooperation over rivalry, and service over personal interest,” he declared, urging the council to work together to make Kebbi State shine.
