Kano Hisbah Board Confirms Free Mass Wedding, Warns Against Registration Scams

The Kano State Hisbah Board has issued a strong warning to the public against paying any fees to individuals claiming to facilitate registration for the upcoming mass wedding program. This announcement follows reports of scams where some people are allegedly demanding money from prospective participants.

Dr. Mujahideen Aminuddeen, Deputy Commander-General of the Hisbah Board, emphasized that the program is entirely funded by the state government, with Governor Abba Yusuf having approved sponsorship that covers wedding attire, furniture, transportation, and start-up capital for the beneficiaries.

"There is no cost associated with this program," Aminuddeen stated. "The governor has covered all expenses, and no official from the Hisbah Board or any government representative is authorized to collect money from anyone seeking to join the mass wedding."

He urged anyone approached for payment to report the matter immediately to the Hisbah Board or relevant security agencies for further investigation.

Aminuddeen reiterated the importance of ensuring that the community is aware of the free nature of the event, stating, "Nobody should pay for anything because the entire program is completely free."

This initiative aims to support couples in the community and promote marriage as a social institution while discouraging fraudulent practices that could exploit vulnerable individuals.

As the mass wedding date approaches, the Hisbah Board is committed to ensuring that the process remains transparent and accessible to all eligible participants.
