The ceremony occurred in Rabat, Morocco, just before Nigeria's opening match in the 2026 WAFCON against Malawi.
The NFF shared the news via its official social media account, confirming that NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko and NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi were present for the presentation.
As part of the rewards, each player received a cash gift of $100,000, which has already been deposited into their bank accounts. Additionally, the players were presented with three-bedroom apartments as part of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Housing Estate initiative.
Members of the Super Falcons' technical crew will also benefit from the rewards. This announcement follows President Bola Tinubu's commitment to reward the team for their victory, which included the conferment of national honors.
The presentation had been delayed for nearly a year due to administrative processes. Dikko had previously indicated that the timing was intentionally aligned with the team's assembly for the upcoming tournament to bolster morale.
“I am leaving Glasgow for Morocco this week to present keys to the houses promised by President Tinubu,” Dikko stated. “The players are now together, and I believe this will enhance their spirits ahead of the 2026 WAFCON.”
The NSC confirmed that the players’ cash rewards had been processed and completed before the presentation.
As defending champions and ten-time winners, Nigeria enters the 2026 WAFCON with high expectations. The Super Falcons will kick off their campaign against Malawi before facing Zambia and Egypt in Group C.
The tournament, running from July 26 to August 16 in Morocco, also serves as Africa’s qualifying event for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. The top four semi-finalists will automatically qualify, while an additional team will have a chance through intercontinental play-offs.
The Super Falcons aim to secure their record-extending 11th continental title in this prestigious competition.
