The Chairman, Ijebu-Ode Local Government, Alhaji Emilola Gazal has pledged to resuscitate the local vigilante system, to ensure adequate security of lives and property of the people.
Gazal stated this while addressing OGIS correspondent at the Local Government Secretariat after a meeting with security chiefs on ways to strengthen security architecture of the area.
He said there was a need to review the security situation in the town as his administration would leave no stone unturned to safeguard the people and their belongings.
"The security architecture can be improved upon a little bit. There used to be a vigilante system in this area which has gone moribund and we are trying to see what can be done to revive it. This will complement efforts of other security agencies", he stated.
