Chief of Army Staff ,Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has described the roles of Traditional Rulers as vital that would continue to be relevant in the society.
According to him,Traditional Rulers in the Country will continue to be central in the enhancement of security of lives and property.
He stressed that as fathers to all subjects, their relevance will continue to be acknowledged.
He stated this in Abeokuta,the Ogun State capital during a courtesy call on the Alake and the Paramount tuller of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo .
The Army boss who also visited 35 Artillery Brigade Alamala said the army as well as other security agencies will sustain the efforts at maintaining , peace , security,law and order.
Lieutenant General Yahaya said traditional rulers have unique ways of calming the nerves of the people pointing out that security is everyone’s business.
In his remark, the Royal Father corroborated the Army Chief saying that security is a major concern of many Nigerians.
He expressed optimism that the chief of Army Staff will leave up to expectation in the discharge of his duties.
Alake of Egbaland who harped on professionalism in the army noted that Nigerians prayers on peace and security will be answered by God.
